2012 Stella 4T specs

Post by Wolfhound »

Doing a little research and find that the specs for our gal are all over the
board. Genuine Scooter Co. says 147.55 CCs as do some other sources.
However my Owners Manual says 150 ccs. Says the maximum output
ia 9 +/-0.3 bhp at 6250 rpms. I have read somewhere else that max bhp
is 8 hp. My question is: which figures are correct? I would assume that
the owners manual would be correct and that Genuine and others have
not kept up with the times, so to speak. I think that their figures are for
the original 2010 models.
My TGB Peirspeed specs are 151CC and 10.1 bhp. Not too much difference between the two.

Why not give Genuine a call and talk with them at the home office.
They were very helpful when I had some Stella questions.

I would guess that the 150cc figure is nominal. The 147.55 is actual.

I too have read a lot of different HP figures: 8.0, 8.5, 9.0, and once 9.66hp. That may be because LML makes slightly different spec engines for different markets. I would guess that he California legal engine is the lowest horse power one. On the other hand, most Indian made motor vehicle seem to be made so the housewife over there can drive it around in second gear without ever having to learn how to shift gears, so the lowest horse power figure may be for the Indian sold versions.

(I am of course being slightly, but only slightly, factitious)

Calling Genuine would be a good idea except I dont make phone calls unless absolutely forced to. My cochlear implant is wonderful except for a few glitches like understanding phone calls, music, and little kids voices.
And when needed my batteries will suddenly go 'dead'!! I will take it up with Floyd at Vespa Marietta next week when I am down there.
Greywolf, that is an interesting insight as usual. Thanks!!
(Factitious????? Got to look that one up!!! )
