i am greatly saddened by this news. what sort of cruel, random irony is this? a rider killed in an auto accident. it just boggles the mind in a strange way

i was happy to exchange pleasantries with her in a recent thread she made, so excited about the new Ducati Scrambler she will never take delivery of. i cannot speak for anyone in her family but if it were me and i had the means i would skimp on the casket and toss in the Scrambler. if its legal and viable. and yes, i am serious

RIP, siobhan

she seemed a poster of good humor and good nature, and i am sure she will be missed at MB for a good time to come. we shall have a remembrance for her every year this time at MB :)

great enthusiasm, and her avatar said it all. somehow, she came through on the internet, and most all about her posting made me smile

Oh God - this is horrible. We were gonna meet up at the motorcycle show in NY in only a couple of weeks. I don't even have the words to express how I feel at this moment.

I'm truly sorry to hear this.

Didn't know her personally, but it is always tragic to hear of a loss, especially in such a tragic fashion.

I always kept the blog marked and enjoyed it a lot. I'm sad there won't be more adventures together. Very heartbreaking.

She was always a positive contributor to discussions here. I'll definitely miss her, and her friendly avatar.

Fahr mit Frieden, Siobhan.

One of the earlier MB members that was still active. She will be missed.

Sincere condolences to all family and friends
(Well done TVB)

This is truly horrible news. She seemed like someone on a completely different level as far as her engagement with motorcycling/scooting, and her enthusiasm set her apart from so many of us.

MB and the rest of the PTW world is a sadder place today.

Truly tragic. I'm deeply saddened by this. Siobhan was a much-admired rider and member, who brought a great personality, adventurous spirit and wealth of knowledge to our community.

She'll be remembered fondly and missed dearly.

I had not commented here before, because I just had nothing to say. As sad as this is; I hope she knows it made me smile to see pics of her scoot at the service and a beer named after her.

Is that a decal someone made in memorial to her?

^ it is. here is a link to a BIG thread at advforums where she is being remembered. traffic has slowed since here death but the thread is still active. i made a post there inviting "whomever it may concern" to come here and share some info, stickers....whatever....in regard to her passing, but am not sure who is reading the thread, or how much interest one might have to come HERE to share?

anyway HERE is the BIG thread at ADV. i posted it before but the link broke for some reason. hopefully it will stay good now. if YOU or anyone here wants to sign up there and post in the thread its easy to do. i will keep grabbing info and pics from there as the days go on

obviously the mourning will stop for her loved ones and those who knew her personally. but imo it is important to remember "one of our own" here at MB the best we can. especially a user as well liked and appreciated as this user was. and yes, every single year. i for one will not forget. she was a rider and an awesome scooterist, and good natured all over this board. what a loss for all who knew and rode with her, and here at our little MB forum, too

As a St Tropez rider I feel it incumbent upon me, and I would be proud to honor her memory by attaching a sticker. I never had any personal interaction with Siobhan, but I enjoyed her posts and admired her passion. So very sorry for her tragic passing.

Well, Siobhan has had an effect already. I own a DRZ and 2 KLR's ( one is my sons) so I signed up over at adv. why not?

I too was thinking something of the like. A printing of her board avatar displayed somewhere on my St Tropez.

Siobhan's avatar is Mr. Tayto, the mascot (?) for Tayto Crisps, found in the Republic and Northern Ireland: http://www.taytocrisps.ie/

When my son came home from a visit to Ireland with a billboard photo of Mr. Tayto, I passed it along to Siobhan, who cheerfully noted that I had been the first to share an in-the-wild find with her. She apparently loved the chips!

damn chips ripped off mr peanut. maybe if it wasn't wearing a coat i could tell it was a 'tater? and who's ever seen a potato in a jacket!

leave it to the irish!

DudeClone suggested that someone from ADV should post here but I'm not sure what I can add that wasn't said before either here or on ADV. She was a special gal, someone who will never be forgotten.

Also I'm the one who made the stickers, got few different kinds, most are reflective, PM me if you'd like one or couple and I will mail them out.

"Superman" was designed by someone close to her (there are two color schemes, classic and Pink) "S" was her profile pic on FB and Ampelmännchen was the ADV avatar, we just decided to make a few and few more and few more... there are couple of them now at here favorite pub, friends cars, bikes, there to remind us, not that anyone would ever forget her :)

thank you MATPOC. pm sent with address. i also have paypal and would be glad to cover any associated cost. in lieu of that any charity or charitable organization which was near and dear to siobhan will see a donation in her name. even if a small rider oriented business which needs support :D

thank you so much!

this was posted earlier by her SO
In lieu of flowers we're requesting that you instead make a memorial donation in her name (Siobhan Ross) to the Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL)
http://www.parl.org/get-involved/donate
We've always had a brood of cats from shelters or straight off the street and PARL was on our yearly charity tax-dodge list. Thank you.

Thanks for posting that Dmitry.

I had an account here a while ago but it appears to have been deleted due to inactivity.

Even though I haven't posted here yet I've been watching this thread since the beginning and I appreciate all your thoughts. I cannot pretend this is easy on any level but my friends have been incredibly supportive with their help and distractions.

As far as Taytos go (peteH), only the ones from the republic are acceptable. NI crisps are right out! Every Christmas Siobhan would order the "Party Box" and this year's shipment was delivered the day before Thanksgiving.

Image

Now I've got to eat my way through all of these.

Donations to the pet shelter have reached $2000 which is amazing - I know she would be proud.

She loved Christmas and it's going to be very difficult watching The Grinch, Merry Christmas Charlie Brown, and the Alistair Sim version of Scrooge without her.

I hope everybody out there has a happy holiday season whatever you celebrate. If you ride in the snow think of Siobhan who would also be riding.

Oh yeah, this year's big surprise gift for her was this:

Which she's wanted since buying the bike. I figured it would be appreciated more on this forum than anywhere else. (much appreciation to the people who helped me obtain this)

wow that is awesome. really, really nice, indeed. seems a woman of good taste and healthy interest in many things motorcycle / scooter related. although difficult i hope those close to her in rl can indeed feel her spirit all around as the ride, scoot, and roll down the road without her, and consider how joyful she would have been at this time of year, and receiving such thoughtful gifts from friends and loved ones. as painful as this loss must be it must also be something of a blessing to have known and loved someone who leaves behind so many great memories in life and of riding. we should all be so lucky to have known people like her

thanks for taking the time and posting here at MB. i think our Admin eric said it well in his short post. she really was all that, and more here on the board.

best wishes to you and yours this holiday season :)

I'd been meaning to share yet another way in which Siobhan left her mark. I'd finally bought a set of proper JIS screwdrivers after remembering Siobhan's contributions to RoaringTodd's stuck speedometer cable thread. Got a nice Vessel Motorcycle Repair Kit before Thanksgiving and meant to thank her for being insistent about it; made the teardown of my '81 C70 Passport a lot easier.

I think I'd like to honor her with a decal on my Elite 80 and one on my Passport, two little bikes I think she'd approve of.

Rest.
