I have a 2007 Buddy 50cc. It starts right up, then I'll accelerate and once I reach about 20-25 mph it sounds like it dies. If I release the throttle, it will idle until the gas tank goes dry. If I don't let off the gas, it will die. When I try to accelerate again, the same thing occurs at slower and slower speeds...to the point that I can barely get it to move. I have taken the carb off and cleaned it twice.
The last time that I was trying to ride it, I noticed that there seemed to be raw fuel dripping out of what I would think was a type of vent on the lower portion of the carb. (Not sure exactly what it is, but it sticks out horizontal just above the pivot point of the kick starter.)
It does smell like it is running a little rich. I live in Colorado, but the original owner bought it in the state. It sat for about a month before this started happening.
I'm not sure what to try next. Any ideas what to try next?
50cc runs great for 1 min. then...
