I figure since I got an early gift on and Chanukah just ended a couple of days ago, I might as well get the ball rolling. Now, of course the holidays are NOT for just grabbing stuff. But, it's an inevitable thread, and of course bound to be scooter specific hopefully.

But, since me and my wife decided to gift each other an early holiday treat, I thought I would kick things off. She got tickets to see X perform live along with a concert hoodie, pics with the band and a few autographs. Me? Well, I got this:



Pretty stoked to see what ELSE she has planned if that's an early gift! I have the best wife in the world to be so understanding when gear like this costs what it does!

I got a cook book. It's called "The Manga Cook book" cos I like to try to cook but I suck at it. I've always admired those Japanese bento boxes cos they are more like art instead of food...

I got one of the weirdest gifts I've ever received. I sold my People S 200 about a year ago. Today I got it back... it only has an additional 14 miles on it from the day it was sold. Quite odd if I do say so myself.

Well, was able to see my parents before we had to head off to see my wife's side of the family. Very work-related Christmas: Copy of the Pocket Ref (EVERYONE should have a copy of this little black book!), a nice high end leather case for my kindle, Another "gag gift" book called "The Book of Secrets" and a DIY Gingerbread kit. Really can't wait until Christmas day for my wife to open her presents

My daughter-in-law is a nurse at a hospital and has to work on Christmas Eve which is when we did the family exchanges so we bumped it up to the last night- the 23rd. I got a Nook Reader from them. I will have to open it up and figure it out today. After having the three grandkids-5, 3, and 2 run around the house and picking up after two of them went home, I was too tired to even open the box! Love the grandkids but they can wear you out!

My wife got me a Grumpy Cat t-shirt. It says: I had fun once. It was awful.

You are going to love the Nook if you are any kind of a book fan. No, it doesn't replace the "feel" of books, but for the avid reader ebooks are awesome! I have yet to put my kindle down for more than a day. It's simple and effective at carrying thousands of books around and makes research a breeze. We got my little brother in law a Nook this year. Hopefully he digs it too.

You're right Neo. I have been busy today loading books onto it. I like that I can get the short novels in the different series I read that are only available as an ebook. I do have several bookcases filled with books and I share books with my friends and family but the Nook will see plenty of use too.

Christmas eve with the wife: First book of Hellboy: Seed of Destruction, a Jayne Cobb T-shirt from Firefly, pizza cutter in the shape of a scooter and a Criterion Collection copy of Quadrophenia!! I would post pics but the only place I have them hosted on is tumblr, and they are coming out HUGE! Don't have time to resize

It wasn't for me, but a couple that I'm friends with made my 9 month old son a wooden rocker- it matches my Stella. Coolest thing ever.

I got a GoGo Gear armored hoodie from my little girl, a selection of Ben Sherman socks and shirts and The Specials 30th Anniversary DVD from my wife, and the dear old elf himself left me an AeroStitch Dispatch bag (with all the trimmings) and a set of Tucano Urbano muffs for one of my bar-end weight scooters. How did he know? And they were still in the USPS priority mail box from the eBay user whom helped me out!

I cooked up the morning nosh (coffee cake and then sausage and eggs), and have prepped the pie for when we want to start the turkey and fixings.

And yeah, the snow from last night is still hanging around (white Christmas!), so there is no tradition ride today. I'm already in the wine today anyway

We also did Christmas on Sunday because my sister in law (who is a nurse) and I both have to work today.

I got a bunch of steel targets for training, and a .22 pistol to take care of a pest problem.

This was the first Christmas in Amerca for my girlfriend who is from Korea. I think she had a little bit of culture shock when my dad, my brother, and I all got guns as gifts. In Korea gift giving at Christmas in not a big thing, but when it does happen it apparently involves less firepower than a Wiggins Family Christmas!

1) Two cheap tablets from Walmart Black Friday sale $59.00 each, they do have latest Android OS. I do not expect them to last but for the money kiddo and mom can abuse them all they want. With Amazon Kindle reader installed getting Kiddo the latest Mindstorms and Sign of Athena books was a snap. Best of all I do not have 2 books laying around the house to complement 6 six foot bookshelves aready sitting in my basement/ library.
2) A new riding jacket for moi at $49.99 (the. 99 made it free shipping )
3) 2,000.00 on hospitalization medications and pricey special food at the old vet while he was saving our new kitten' s life after he got the wrong shot at the new vet's. Considering Hufflepuff already used up 3 of his 9 kittie lives we are very happy he is still with us (even though the $$$ was meant for me getting a maxiscoot some day.
4) Kiddo promising not to hack parental controls and not go to hacker and porn sites - priceless

I got a handful of magic, one of my favorite gifts ever.

Hhhmmmm, let's see.....

- Wife, her two sisters, and my MIL managing to burn a smoked ham beyond all hopes of recovery.

- A Christmas Eve dinner most notable for the fact that only about a third of the surviving (non-incinerated) dishes ever made it down to my end of the table thanks to a biblical plague of in-laws.

- Dining next to my snotty, know-it-all, first-year law student nephew and struggling mightily to keep from cracking a bottle of Sam Adams over his head.

- 2.5 days with my MIL (further elaboration not needed)

- 12 pair of white socks (shop rags in the making).

- A pair of Thinsulate gloves (emphasis on thin).

- A bottle of Old Spice, which actually goes quite well with burnt ham if you can convince yourself that it's made from cloves and pineapple.

All made palatable by having my two kids safe, healthy, and happy.

Well, wasn't expecting more, but the visit to the brother-in-law's for Christmas yielded more things. I know part of this is her Sister-in-law's side devoted to converting me from the ways of sin (i.e. being one of the two non-Christians in that house), but the kindness from the rest of the family was amazing. The food was pretty damn good and I was surpised with:

-The IATSE union standard Stage Manager's handbook. Lost mine in an apartment fire about 9 years ago so this was very awesome of my wife

-A lego hobbit hole with 4 of the Dwarves!!!!! (cool stuff)

-A Pretzel maker. (Yeah. :\ That one was out there)

-A Tolkien Beastiary compendium

-And, a brand new removable topcase for the Kymco !!

The wife finally got to open her main present: A milkcrate FULL of fully restored vintage stereo equipment for her Vinyl collection plus $75 credit to one of the local record shops, Zia's. She was one giddy girl We had opened the other smaller things at home so it could just be the two of us

And, I got a cold from someone thanks to whoever did THAT.

I do hope everyone had a safe and peaceful holiday. I know I'm feeling very blessed to have the family that I do right now...

And the topcase installed Should do OK, even if it's not the most stylish thing in the world.

I absolutely love the headline.

My notable goodies were: the Walking Dead game, some nice (not riding) gloves, and mom got me some very nice luggage for the trips I plan on taking this year, not knowing I'd already bought some... so maybe I'll ask her to return it and pay for my new phone instead.

I did more giving than getting this year, but it's okay... especially with my family, I was making up for the last couple years where I was too broke to do much and also helping them out since my Dad is currently unemployed. I enjoy giving gifts
