I have no motorcycle experience to train me to swing my leg over, and the scooter's physically different enough from my bicycle that I've never been "tricked" into doing it. The only time I've done it was when I was transporting something bulky on the floor, so I couldn't step through.
Woops! I voted "somtimes" but I thought we were talking about swinging your legs out to loosen them up while riding! I never swing mine over when getting on the scoot.... Gotta pay more attention next time.

I alwasy swing to get off, and mixed when getting on. Now that I have a top case its been.... interesting..... to watch me try and get off. I just can't seem to break the habbit. (I ride bicycles, used to ride horses)
With the milk crate on the back and a bum right hip it would be an absolute impossibility anyhow. One of the reasions I chose a scooter over another type of bike.
Why would I do that? Being tired of swinging my tired 'ol leg over a high seat and backrest
was one of the better reasons I switched from MCs to scooters!
So I certainly wouln't throw away that advantage now, right?
Step up and sit down, nice and easy, and awaaaay we go baby!!
Thas the way we roll here in NJ!
