Yup, gotta break that new stadium in right.

Had a chance to take a tour of the old park last summer. Sad to see it go; brought back a lot of good memories. The new park (only saw it from the outside) is really nice however, and they did a great job of maintaining that classic look. Love 'em or hate 'em, you've gotta give the Steinbrenners a lot of credit for plowing their profits back into the business. The only beef I've got with the Yankee organization is the raw deal they gave Joe Torre (who happens to be an alumnus of my old high school). Would've loved to see the Dodgers in the series just to give Joe the chance to poke his thumb in their eye.

This year's World Series is like a battle between cancer and the swine flu, I'm just rooting for the team I hate less (oh, and rooting for injuries, lots n' lots of injuries  ).

I was just told I was being 'unruely' at the local VFW just for the act of wearing a Yankees hat!! :wha:

Of course there was a sea of Phillies hats there....

I don't follow baseball, but still, I am genetically predisposed. Yankees suck.

My wife went so school with Tony Kubek Jr. (son of Yankees great Tony Kubek.)

Alex Rodriguez was on the roster of the Appleton Foxes at the beginning of the club's final season as the Foxes in 1994. They are now the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. I have been to many games both as the Foxes and the Rattlers.

The team I root for throughout the year, for some mentally deficient reason, is the Milwaukee Brewers. Last year CC Sabathia was a Brewer.

I was born in New Jersey and spent my first nine years of life in New York state.

Even with these connections to New York I am still not a Yankee's fan. I can't really explain why, I just don't like 'em.

Go Phillies!

NSR- Not always sunny in Philly! ">})

Post by Drumwoulf »

The NY Yankees sure are heartbreakers tho...
3 runs in the 9th inning, started with a two base steal?
Got a feeling it ain't gonna be always sunny in Philly soon! :P

Usta live in the Bronx only 7 blocks from (the original) Yankee Stadium; I often walked there to watch games as a kid. On a summer weekday you could get into the 'bleachers' for less than a buck! (Thas $1, for you country types...)
I suspect the 'bleachers' got their name because the seating section was way out at the very end of the outfield, in the sun, with no overhanging roof for shade! Not the greatest of seats, but for a kid the price was sure right!
Namaste,

Ain't that the truth! The Angels' Scott Kazmir was simply unbelievable. I've never seen anyone take so much time between pitches and require so many trips to the mound by the pitching coach and catcher.

I guess what I'll never understand about professional sports is how people who've been doing the same thing for virtually their entire lives require an entire support staff to tell them when they're doing something wrong. It's sorta like having to open up a service manual every time you need to top off the windshield washer fluid.

This just in: Team with two of the four highest paid starting pitchers, first baseman, shortstop, third baseman, reliever, and no doubt ball boy ahead in world series; And just to go to show you that these rich boys are not ingrates, union chief who presided over the steroid-tainted destruction of baseball gets a multimillion dollar retirement gift.

Richest team in baseball thievery: Johnny Damon, not content with stealing just ONE base from the Phillies, has the audacity to steal a SECOND base. Perhaps he's just not making enough in salary.

Yankees have two highest paid pitchers in the MLB, that explains why they can only afford to rotate 3 pitchers on short rest.

Phillies Howard is now 0 - 456 when batting anytime it's important. Asked if it bothered him he replied " I like A-rod's batting helmet." in other nonsensical news Andy Pettite has more hits in the world series than 1st baseman Mark Texiera.
