I've worked on a couple of 170is in the past. The exhaust valve was always tight. On mine, I adjust them at every oil change.

The horn tenders shows is similar to the stock horn on a roughhouse or 170i. Pretty damn loud w/ no need for a relay. I have that horn on both my scooters now. Makes a big difference.

Any 1/4" inline fuel filter will work. You can get one from the auto parts store, or the home center for a lawnmower. NGK BP7HS is the plug you want. You only need one.

You're welcome. I've tried a number of cheap cases in the past. The base always caused the problem. I like the look of this base. I like the fact you can remove the case if you want to ride with out it. If you buy one, post a photo of it on your scooter once it arrives.

That looks like a lot of top case for the money. I like the mounting options of the monolock type base. I just picked up this 2012 50cc with 900 miles on it for $500. It's been parked protected in a parking garage for 4 years. Gas tank looks good. It has a thick layer of dust and a dead battery. Should be a good winter project.

The Vespa is a water cooled, fuel injected 4 valve motor. Blur 220i is 16 hp, Vespa is 21 hp. Not in the same ballpark. Genuine puts out a great scooter for the money, but can't come close to the Vespa.

Can you visibly see cracks? Look real close. Are they holding air. Inflate them to 30 lbs now. Check them regularly for a while. If you do not see cracks, and they are holding air, Ride it until the rear is bald.

You have to remove the single phillips screw holding the filter into the housing.
Gently pull it forward. You will see a 1.25" hose connected to it. It's held in place by a spring clamp. If you remove the seat bucket, it's easier to get to. Replace the fuel filter while you are back there.

See that dime size hole in the plastic body panel? Straight up from the far left point of the airbox.... You have to put a phillips screwdriver through that hole, insert into the screw head and rotate to the left.

Stock rollers are 6 X 6 gram. I usually go with 6-4 gram Dr. Pulley Sliders. I swapped them with 6 - 4gram tech pulley sliders for my test. I have a set I'm installing in my Burgman next week when I replace the belt.

With that low of miles, don't waste your time opening the CVT. Unless it's been sitting in river water, no way is that your problem. Re-check the diaphragm with a bit of grease. Where in Denver are you?

Completely bypass the tank and petcock to see if it rules out your problem. Hook up a temporary fuel source to the carb, and see if it runs better. You need to remove the vacuum line at the petcock and block it.
